Information

On January 2, China's first far-reaching offshore floating wind power platform - "CNOOC Guanlan " completed the main project construction in Qingdao. This marks important progress in the construction of the world's first "double hundred" offshore wind power project with a water depth of more than 100 meters and an offshore distance of more than 100 kilometers.

The Main Body of China's First Far-reaching Offshore Floating Wind Power Platform was Completed

The platform of "CNOOC Guanlan " is composed of three side columns and one central column in a triangular shape. The side length is more than 80 meters, the height is about 35 meters, and the weight is nearly 4000 tons. The fan will be installed on the central column. After the project is put into operation, the power generated by the wind turbines will be connected to the power grid of offshore oilfields through dynamic submarine cables for oil and gas production. The annual power generation can reach 22 million kWh, which can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 22,000 tons.

The "CNOOC Guanlan" platform will be installed in the offshore oil field 136 kilometers away from Wenchang, Hainan. The sea area has high winds and waves, and the wind force at the center of the largest typhoon in history is close to 17, which poses a huge challenge to the design of wind turbine platform.

Hua Bin, project manager of CNOOC's "CNOOC Guanlan" , said: Through technical innovation such as optimizing platform scale and adding efficient damping structure, we can make the inclination of floating wind power platform not more than 10 degrees under the action of extreme typhoon. It can effectively prevent the fan blades from being damaged by the sea waves, and has the ability to resist the super-strong typhoon with the maximum force of 17 and above, and can ensure the safety of the fan at the wind speed of 84 meters/second.

The research, development, design and construction of the "COOEC Guanlan" was independently completed by CNOOC for the first time. In terms of multiple indicators such as investment per megawatt, steel consumption per megawatt, and capacity of a single floating wind turbine, CNOOC is at the domestic and international advanced level.

China's Offshore Wind Power is Accelerating Its Development to the Deep Sea

In recent years, the installed capacity of China's offshore wind power has continued to grow. By 2022, the cumulative installed capacity is expected to reach 32.5 million kilowatts, and the installed capacity of China's offshore wind power will continue to be the first in the world.

China's offshore wind energy resources are very rich. China has 18000 kilometers of coastline, and the technical development of wind energy resources is 500 million kilowatts within the range of 5 to 50 meters of sea water depth, while China's offshore wind energy development capacity is more than 3 to 4 times that of the offshore. The far-reaching offshore wind turbine is mainly of floating type, which can not only be absorbed locally, but also supply power for offshore facilities. China's floating wind power started late. At present, China's installed capacity of floating wind power ranks fourth in the world. It is expected that by 2026, the cumulative installed capacity is expected to exceed 500000 kilowatts.

Li Nan, senior researcher of the Energy Economics Research Institute of CNOOC, said: With technological progress and large-scale development, superimposed green power premium effect, floating wind power is expected to achieve parity development beyond expectations. Floating wind power has a broad application prospect, and it can also cooperate with the development of marine pasture, seawater hydrogen production, marine tourism, and marine mineral resources development, forming a new ecology of marine industry with cross-border integration such as comprehensive energy island.

According to the latest report released by the World Offshore Wind Power Forum, in the first half of 2022, the installed capacity of global offshore wind power will increase by 6.8 GW, with China accounting for 5.1 GW. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, China has planned five offshore bases of 10 million kilowatts, and the scale of offshore wind power development plans issued by various regions has reached 80 million kilowatts, which will promote the faster development of offshore wind power, and the cumulative installed capacity will exceed 200 million kilowatts by 2030.
