The plenary report session was chaired by Guo Xiao, Secretary-General of the Welding Materials Subtechnical Committee of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Welding and Related Processes.

Secretary-General Guo Xiao delivered a keynote report titled “Current Status of Welding Flux Technology in China.”

Dr. Zhang Yanyun delivered a keynote report titled “Research Progress on Flux Design and Weld Strength–Toughness Matching in Thick-Plate Welding.”

Engineer Liu Hai delivered a keynote report on “Common Welding Fluxes for Boilers and Pressure Vessels and Their Quality Requirements.”

Zhang Hongwei, Chairman of Phoenix Welding Materials, delivered a keynote report titled “Green, High-End Submerged Arc Welding Flux Production and Manufacturing.”

Subsequently, the conference held vigorous technical exchanges and specialized discussions centered on the theme of “the entire flux industry chain—collaborative innovation among industry, academia, research institutions, and end-users.” Attendees freely shared their views on the development, applications, and technological innovations in key areas, actively voicing their respective opinions.

In his address, Chairman Zhang Hongwei stated that Phoenix Welding Materials, a private enterprise that has been deeply engaged in the R&D, production, and widespread application of submerged-arc welding fluxes for nearly 30 years, adheres to the product philosophy of “Innovation knows no bounds; products must be flawless.” The company continuously optimizes its manufacturing processes, upgrades its equipment, ensures consistent product quality, adjusts its product mix, strengthens its industrial chain, and fosters innovation, all in pursuit of building a century-old Phoenix. As China accelerates its drive toward new-type industrialization that is high-end, green, and sustainable, Phoenix Welding Materials also faces numerous opportunities and challenges in the flux production process. The company hopes that by participating in this conference, it can join other attendees in jointly exploring specialized issues in the field of welding, engaging in in-depth exchanges on the latest advanced technologies, and establishing seamless links among industry, academia, research institutions, and end-users, thereby contributing more positive momentum to the high-quality development of China’s flux industry.

Finally, Yang Yuting, Chair of the Welding Materials Subtechnical Committee of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Welding and Related Processes, delivered a concluding address. He expressed sincere gratitude to Phoenix Welding Materials for hosting the conference and providing comprehensive, high-quality support. He noted that although fluxes account for only a small share of the welding industry, their importance is no less than that of other key elements. The presentations and discussions by all delegates were both generous and insightful, with representatives ranging from association leaders and academic experts to flux manufacturers and end-users, each sharing their successful experiences, forging greater industry consensus, clarifying the needs of all stakeholders, and further strengthening cooperation and exchange. These efforts will inject “new-quality productive forces” into the intelligent, green, and industrialized development of the flux sector, promote the healthy and sustainable growth of the welding industry, and make an even greater contribution to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Yang Yuting, Chair of the Welding Materials Subtechnical Committee of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Welding and Related Processes, delivered a concluding statement.
